THE COMMUNITY IMPERATIVE

CAL-DDCOMMIMP is a moderated discussion group for those who are interested in community services for individuals with developmental disabilities.  Subscription is open to all, however posters will follow the simple guidelines of mutual respect.  CAL-DDCOMMIMP is a safe place to discuss advocacy and strategies on making California a place where all people, who are entitled to community living, live successfully in their community. CAL-DDCOMMIMP will also be a forum for discussion, news, and promotion of the Community Imperative

and next year's California Community Imperative Conference.

Features:

• All Posts are approved before going out to list. Preapproval prevents "flaming", personal posts from inadvertently going out to entire group, and helps keep discussion on topic.

• Posts can be received by e-mail, in the form of a daily digest, or viewed online at the e-group CAL-DDCOMMIMP website.

• Members can store files on site. For example, the California Governor's Budget 2000-01 MAY REVISE HIGHLIGHTS are stored in WordPerfect format in the "Files" section.

• Calendar and databases are available. Members can post important dates, contacts, or even a recipe.

• Ability for real time chat. Members can set up a time to meet for online chat.

• Members can post a poll on any subject.

• There is a links section, too.
